Übung: Fachsprachen im Vergleich – C2 German Grammar

Practice: comparing specialist languages – summary

Every specialist language has its own formulas, technical terms and sentence structures that laypeople often don't immediately understand. At the same time, all specialist languages have features in common.

Common features

  • nominal style (die Inanspruchnahme, die Durchführung)
  • passive and impersonal constructions (es wird …, man …, ist zu …)
  • precision: one term = one meaning
  • abbreviations and compounds
